Public Works Manager

Public Works Manager – Carneys Point Township, Salem County, Population approximately 8,049, is accepting applications for a Public Works Manager.  The Township is seeking a customer oriented and experienced professional to plan, supervise, organize and direct all DPW activities including but not limited to the following Divisions: Roads; Trash and Recycling; Parks and Field Maintenance; Facilities Management; Fleet Manager; Recycling Coordinator; and Storm Water Management.  Carneys Point Township also provides Public Works services to the Borough of Penns Grove (population approximately 4,886) via a Shared Service Agreement.  This is a leadership and management position requiring supervisory experience in all the above areas.  The ideal applicant shall have the ability to lead, supervise and work with crews on a daily basis plus motivate staff to work as a team, maintain safety, discipline and enforce policies and procedures, provide written work reports, work schedules, address resident complaints, administer a 1.5 million dollar Budget; a 1.8 million dollar Capital Budget and be an advisor to the Administrator and Township Committee.  Desired Candidate must possess a Certified Public Works Manager Certification or the ability to obtain a CPWM Certification in one year, a valid NJ Driver’s License, excellent skills in budgeting, capital planning and personnel management.
